Amistad National Recreation Area
An oasis in the desert, Amistad National Recreation Area consists of the US portion of the International Amistad Reservoir. Amistad is best known for excellent water-based recreation, camping, hiking, rock art viewing, and its rich cultural history. It is also home to a wide variety of plant and animal life above and below the water.

Whitehead Memorial Museum

Chartered in 1983 and awarded IRC 501 (c)(3) non-profit status in 1986, the Laughlin Heritage Foundation’s purpose is to educate the public about the importance of air power in sustaining the national security of the United States, and to preserve the heritage of Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas, at the Laughlin Heritage Foundation Museum.

Devil’s River State National Area
Devils River State Natural Area is a 37,000-acre (15,000 ha) section of three ecosystems, the Edwards Plateau, the Tamaulipan mezquital and the Chihuahuan Desert. It is located 66 miles (106 km) north of Del Rio, Val Verde County in the U.S. state of Texas.
