Classy atmospheres, a swanky bar, and one of the best surf-and-turf options in Del Rio! Manuel’s knows how to cook a steak. Teo gives them all leaves up! (Because he doesn’t have thumbs)
The Brown Bag
A delightful, locally owned coffee bar and deli that may be known for their tortilla soup and famous fish tacos (Served on Wednesdays) but Teo is a big fan of their paninis too – obviously!
Julio’s Seasoning & Corn Chips
Julio’s Chips & Salsa are a Texas tradition. There’s something special about the perfect amount of seasoning on these thin, crispy chips, you won’t be able to stop. Now you can visit the birthplace, and grab a delicious plate of Mexican food while you’re at it! Teo approved!
Chinto’s Mexican Restaurant
A small but mighty stand, Chinto’s is classic Mexican fare – with an impressive list of tacos and their very own Super Tacos! The “hole-in-the-wall” everyone is raving about!
Memo’s Restaurant
One of the longest standing Mexican restaurants in Del Rio, Memo’s first opened their doors in 1936 and continues the tradition with good food, great music, and beautiful scenery!
Salas Better Burger
An old-fashioned burger shack serving up some of the best burgers in town! Whether you’re going for the two-burger special, or layering up the beef with a triple, you’ll be glad you came! And don’t forget the tomato!
Del Rio Places to Go
Amistad National Recreation Area
Teodoro is no cool cucumber, so when he needs to cool off, he heads out to Lake Amistad! One of the top bass fishing lakes in the country, it’s also just a great place to hang out on the water, have a picnic, and relax for the day!
Whitehead Memorial Museum
A small pioneer village in the middle of Del Rio, Texas with something for everyone, no matter what age! The Whitehead Memorial Museum has been preserving the history of Del Rio and Val Verde County for more than 60 years. Teo suggests planning at least an afternoon while you’re here to visit!
Val Verde Winery
The oldest continually operating winery in Texas, Val Verde Winery is worth the visit, and even Teo agrees: they’ve got some great wines that can hold their own among the heritage of Italian wine making!
Laughlin Heritage Foundation Museum
The Laughlin Heritage Foundation Museum has been helping the public understand the importance of air power in sustaining national security of the US and preserving the heritage of the Laughlin Air Force Base. Teo says it’s a great afternoon to tour!
Devil’s River State National Area
A little out of the way, Devil’s River is well worth the drive. Whether you want to hop in a kayak and paddle your way through the pristine river and tour the rugged beauty of Texas, or have a picnic along the water, you’ll love it here!
